The Evolving Picture - A joint presentation by Dr. John Mack & Dr. Veronica Goodchild

For the past twelve years I have worked intensively with hundreds of individuals from many walks of life in several cultures who have reported profound, life changing, experiences, through encounters with human-like beings, reaching them apparently from other dimensions. In speaking and writing about these people, I have come to appreciate the problems that readers and audiences have in thinking about matters that seem so far outside of the bounds of reality that have been defined by their education and upbringing.

It is my purpose in this presentation to describe the emerging worldview, the new "story of the universe" (Swimme and Berry), to try to explain why its evident truths are so intensely resisted, and to offer some ideas about what is needed to bring about a necessary transformation of thinking. The heart of the challenge lies in our understanding of knowledge itself, the purpose of knowledge, and our ways of knowing.

The question of what knowledge is for has been brought into the center of our awareness by the increasing realization that knowledge for knowledge's sake without attention to context and responsibility can bring measureless harm. We need to remember that knowledge and the act of knowing are themselves sacred pursuits (Nasr), and that the purpose of all knowledge, as was once understood, is to enable us to discover the sacred core of reality and reconnect with the divine or what Huxley called "the ground of being. "

Central to my thesis will be the importance of entering and knowing the realms of the sacred through what I will call Witnessing. A Witness performs a sacred truth-telling function that is well known in some religious traditions; in Buddhist traditions attention is given to clarity of mind, absence of other agendas and an apparent "intimacy of knowing" (Bowman) which leaves no doubt in a hearer's mind that he is in the presence of an authentic Witness. Psychiatrist Robert J. Lifton, has suggested the term "Professional Witness" to refer to a person who, by virtue of status, integrity, depth of knowledge, perceived social responsibility, or close-up experience, calls attention to events or matters in a culture which, if ignored, would imperil that society's vitality, or even its moral and physical survival.

In the case of experiences that are considered extraordinary by virtue of being at odds with a prevailing worldview, experiencers become Witnesses by having been so affected by what they have undergone that they are in some ways profoundly changed--possessing, for example, new skills and capabilities or moral concerns, or making new life choices.

The abduction experiencers fulfill the criteria of authentic Witnesses, and it is of vital importance that we take seriously what they are reporting to us. I will try to make the case that the careful study of human experience such as UFO-related encounters, especially through the use of what has been called non-ordinary states of consciousness (states that have been considered anything but non-ordinary in traditional cultures throughout human history), leads inevitably to experiencing once again the sacred quality of all reality and being.

John E. Mack, M.D., is professor of psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School and founding director of the Center for Psychology and Social Change.  As a child and adult psychoanalyst he has applied the insights of depth psychology to address the roots of the Cold War, the global ecological crisis, ethno-nationalism, and other collective phenomena that inform our understanding of human identity. Since 1990 he has worked with over 200 individuals from six continents who have experienced encounters with unknown intelligences.

In 1993 Dr. Mack founded the Program for Extraordinary Experience Research (PEER), to continue this work and also to explore the varieties of extraordinary experience. His publications include A Prince of Our Disorder, a Pulitzer Prize­winning biography of T.E. Lawrence, and Abduction. His latest book, Passport to the Cosmos, is now available in paperback.

CHILDHOOD ENCOUNTERS: HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND THE ABDUCTION EXPERIENCE

Two extremely important new cases will be revealed for the first time. The central discussion will be a study of a number of childhood abductions I have investigated and the influence of these experiences on the abductees' subsequent psychological development.

Budd Hopkins is a world-renowned artist, author, and pioneer UFO abduction researcher. Having investigated well over 700 cases, he now heads the Intruders Foundation, a nonprofit, scientific research and support organization. Budd first became interested in the UFO phenomenon when he and two others had a daylight UFO sighting near Truro, Massachusetts, in 1964. In 1975 he carried out his first major investigation which involved a UFO landing and occupant incident in North Hudson Park, NJ. Shortly thereafter, he began to concentrate on the investigation of the UFO abduction phenomenon, which led to the eventual publication of his findings. Taken together, his three books, Missing Time, 1981, Intruders, 1987, and Witnessed, 1996, are widely regarded by researchers and skeptics alike as comprising the most influential series of books yet published on the abduction phenomenon. These works, Hopkins' lectures, and his other presentations have been responsible for bringing a number of other noted researchers-David Jacobs,  John Carpenter, Yvonne Smith, and John Mack, among others-into this extraordinary area of specialization. His documented discoveries have become the basis of most later abduction investigations and research. 

Budd Hopkins has long been considered ufology's most visible figure. He pioneered and continues to lead the investigation into the most controversial aspect of the UFO phenomenon-the systematic abduction of human beings by UFO occupants. As the world's premier expert on this issue, he has worked with more than one thousand people who have reported abduction experiences over the past twenty years. These individuals come from all walks of life and include physicians, psychiatrists, attorneys, police officers, military personnel, political figures, personalities from the
entertainment world, and even a NASA scientist. 

A prolific writer and internationally respected painter, Hopkins has delivered hundreds of UFO lectures around this country and around the world. His groundbreaking first book, Missing Time, was the first work to compare a number of UFO abduction cases in order to isolate the patterns they revealed. His second book, Intruders-The Incredible Visitation at Copley Woods, was a New York Times bestseller and the basis for the popular 1992 CBS miniseries, Intruders, which has since been broadcast internationally. His widely acclaimed latest book is Witnessed-The True Story of the Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abductions. 

Hopkins' goal has always been to bring an objective, dispassionate scientific intelligence to bear on the UFO abduction phenomenon. To this end, he founded the Intruders Foundation (IF) in 1989. IF is a nonprofit organization devoted to research and public education concerning this extraordinary enigma. They publish a respected journal, as well as offer a nationwide referral service for those wishing to explore their own suspected abduction experiences.

Disclosure: An Analysis of Government and Military Witness Testimony

Wormhole-Stargates: Tunneling Through The Cosmic Neighborhood

It was many years ago when the science fiction media (TV, film and novels) began to adopt traversable wormholes, and more recently "stargates", for interstellar travel schemes that allowed their heroes and heroines to travel the Cosmic Neighborhood. Little did anyone outside of theoretical physics know but that in 1985 physicist Kip Thorne and his students at CalTech had in fact proved the principle of traversable wormholes right out of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity (GTR, published in 1915).

Thorne et al did this as an academic exercise, and in the form of problems for a physics final exam, at the request of Carl Sagan who had then completed the draft of his novel "Contact".  Sagan wanted to follow the genre called science "faction", whereby the story's plot would rely on cutting-edge physics concepts to make the it more realistic and technically plausible.  This little exercise ended up becoming one of the greatest cottage industries in general relativity physics research - the study of traversable wormholes and time machines.

Real stargates exist in principle, they are merely a form of what are called traversable wormholes. These are unlike the well known Einstein-Rosen Bridges that are formed from collapsed (black holes) or non-collapsed stars or dense balls of matter.  Black holes are collapsed stars that have all their mass concentrated in an infinitesimal point where the gravity field crushes spacetime and all matter. 

Wormholes are tunnels through spacetime connecting together either different remote locations within our universe or two different universes, they even connect together different dimensions and different times. In either case, there is the black hole singularity or the ball of non-collapsed matter which totally blocks the way through the tunnel.  A traversable wormhole neither has a singularity nor a dense ball of non-collapsed matter blocking the the tunnel. Also, traversable wormholes do not possess an event horizon, which is a region of ultra-high gravitational field strength separating the inside space surrounding the black hole singularity from the outside universe. Once you go through a black hole's event horizon, you can never come back out because you will have to attain greater than light speed to escape.

Traversable wormholes are gentle creatures of GTR allowing for very comfortable travel through the Cosmic Neighborhood.  They possess normal time flow, normal or nonexistent gravitational stresses on space travelers, and their entry/exit openings (or throats) are spherically shaped.  A byproduct of wormhole studies has been the development of so-called aspheric wormholes, that is to say wormholes possessing flat entry/exit openings. These are essentially what a true stargate or flat doorway through space/time and dimensions would be.  I will address how stargate-wormholes can provide a testable hypothesis explaining much of the UFO phenomenon.

Dr. Davis received his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Arizona in 1991. His fields of specialization include spacecraft exploration of the outer solar system, planetary sciences, relativity theory and cosmology, space mission engineering, and NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Physics. Dr. Davis is employed as Aerospace/Astro-Physics researcher at the National Institute for Discovery Science in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also participates in and serves as a consultant to the NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Physics program, and is a team leader on the Advanced Deep Space Transport Technology Assessment (Breakthrough Propulsion Physics) Group with the Montana State Aerospace Authority.

Dr. Davis began his graduate work as a mission support and research assistant with the Infrared Astronomical Satellite group at the Steward Observatory in Tucson, Arizona. In 1985, he joined the Voyager Ultraviolet Spectrometer Experiment group at the Lunar & Planetary Lab in Tucson where he conducted research on Jupiter's magnetosphere, the Uranus and Neptune planetary encounters, and participated in the Voyager 1 & 2 space mission support.

Following completion of his doctorate, he became an associate faculty and interim director for the Arizona Astronomy Education Center at Pima College in Tucson. In 1995 Dr. Davis was appointed to the faculty of physical/computer sciences & mathematics, in addition to providing Air Force sponsored space mission engineering and Korean theater space reconnaissance training, at the University of Maryland Asian Division where he was stationed at the 8^th Fighter Wing in Kunsan, South Korea.

Dr. Davis has authored papers and given recognized presentations on quantum vacuum (zero point energy), wormhole, warp drive and antimatter propulsion physics. He has also been recognized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for outstanding contributions to national defense and space public policy, and received recognition from the State of Arizona Economic Conversion Council for contributions to commercial conversion of small-medium space and defense businesses in Arizona.

Dr. Davis is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics and member of the American Astronomical Society. He has served in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, as well as board director, for these and other chapters of professional engineering organizations.

MERITING "CITIZENSHIP" IN OUR GALACTIC COMMUNITY:  A NEW HUMAN PARADIGM

We, as a species, are just beginning to discern the vague contours of the specific sub-component elemental "belief systems" which might go into making up "The New Paradigm" which will arise within our human civilization as we fully and consciously embrace the presence, within our Universe – and within our galaxy - of another fully intelligent, highly-technologically-advanced...and even "spiritually" mature ...other sentient civilization.

I hope that, with the "discovery" of this other intelligent and highly-technologically-developed civilization within our galaxy (which appears to be developed vastly in advance of ours) will NOT cause our civilization – or our species – to go the way of other cultures (such as those of the Native North American Indigenous Culture, the cultures of the remote Amazonian Rain Forests, or the cultures of only recently-discovered primitive tribal cultures discovered on tiny remote islands in the South Pacific Ocean) when they were "encountered" by the vastly more highly-developed, technological and intellectual cultures of our Western Civilization.

For any Extra Terrestrial Civilization which is capable of traveling to us from the distant stars may exceed the development of our civilization on our planet by many millions of years. And those cultures identified above – and those peoples – were totally decimated, dispersed and destroyed by their encounter with our Western Civilization which was only mere hundreds of years more advanced than theirs.

On the other hand, those of us who are cognizant of the almost unimaginable advances that might be offered to us by such an inter-stellar civilization, also hope that our human civilization will not respond to officially-confirmed contact with this civilization with a undue bellicose and potentially self-destructive show of attempted military force or hostility.

This is my major present concern.

Some "Third Option" must surely be open to us...a path into this other civilization.

It is the task of those among us who recognize the extraordinary positive potential of this momentous moment in our human history, but who are also aware of its potential dangers, to set about doing the difficult and disciplined work that will be necessary to discern and identify the ways in which our present dominant human "Worldview" will have to be "modified" to accommodate this "new reality" without shattering us and leaving us, therefore, defenseless and unduly subservient to this new Extra Terrestrial Species – or, on the other hand, instigating us, through fear, to conduct ourselves in an unduly bellicose and hostile manner to their approach to us.

This task will require long and difficult work. But this task can, and will, be accomplished – if we focus clearly on: (1) identifying exactly what the component elemental beliefs are which go into making up a fully-integrated Human "Worldview"; (2) identifying the dominant Human Worldview(s) which are presently operative within our human culture at the present time (which will have to be "supplemented" or "modified" in order to integrate the "reality" of Extra Terrestrial Intelligence into them; and (3) objectively constructing new beliefs pertaining to each of the component "elements" which are essential to the construction of a new, fully-integrated Human Worldview.

This must be accomplished within the lifetimes of those of us who were born in the 20^th Century and are presently reading this essay - in order to prepare our human family for what is coming to us in the 21^st Century. If we perform our task well, our human species will survive and we will successfully take our place, as equals, among the numerous civilizations which populate the stars.

If we do not, we shall surely perish – through either our complete subservience to and dissolution into a much more vast and sophisticated civilization than ours which has been created, over millions of years, by a species, or by numerous species, of Beings so far beyond our human comprehension and appreciation that we prove to be totally incapable of offering to this civilization that quality of being which makes us, as a species, uniquely "worthy" to participate in that larger civilization as equals...or through a vain and senseless effort to engage this highly- advanced civilization in war, through the construction, deployment and utilization of some new generation of what we view to be "sophisticated" human weaponry - perhaps "back-engineered" from devises seized or recovered from members of the early expeditionary forces of this Extra Terrestrial civilization to our world whom we have encountered over the past 50 years.

As former General Counsel of The United States Jesuit Headquarters’ National Office of Social Ministry in Washington, D.C. and a Candidate for the Catholic Priesthood in the Jesuit Order, I share Jesuit Priest Teilhard de Chardin’s optimism about the evolutionary potential of our human species. I do not wish to see our species "swallowed up" in the vastness of space or dissolved into a larger and ultimately "alien" species or civilization. Nor do I wish to see us destroy ourselves through the wrong-headed attempted application of "advanced" human technology (nuclear, "zero-point", cold-fusion or other) in a vain effort to isolate ourselves from this species and from this larger civilization.

As a believer in the ultimately spiritual "mission" of our human species "incarnated" within our physical Universe, I wish to see (and to participate in) our human family’s "earning" of our rightful and unique "place" among the pantheon of sentient species in our Universe who have, like us, been "incarnated" in our Universe.

To this end, I dedicate myself – and my remaining years within this "incarnation"- to the task identified in this essay.

I hope that you will join with me in this endeavor – and with my brothers and sisters, here on our planet and out among the stars – who join with us in this noble task.

May God (whatever you might believe this phenomenon to be) bless us all in our going forward to achieve this important mission.

THE PROBABILITY OF A PUBLIC ENCOUNTER WITH EXTRATERRESTRIALS IN THE 21st CENTURY and the public policy implications of such contact on American foreign policy, military policy and national security. DAN SHEEHAN is a social activist who has spent virtually his entire life working on progressive social programs and initiatives. As the Legal Counsel on such nationally-recognized investigative cases involving government covert operations as The Karen Silkwood Case, The Iran/Contra Case, The Pentagon Papers Case, The Watergate Burglary Case, and The American Sanctuary Movement Case, Dan brings to the issue of Extraterrestrial Intelligence and the UFO Phenomenon a unique background in investigating and exposing the world of American governmental covert operations, "black budget" operations, mind control programs, government disinformation projects, covert warfare and clandestine operations. He established the Christic Institute in Washington, DC, which for nearly two decades was the country's preeminent public-interest law firm.

In 1994 Dan defended Dr. John Mack before his inquisition by an Investigatory panel of the Harvard Medical School after Dr. Mack's courageous publication of "Abduction: Human Encounters With Aliens." This was not his first, nor his last, encounter with the important issue of Alien Intelligence and American Law. In 1977, while General Counsel to the United States Jesuit Office of Social Ministry in Washington, DC., he served as a Special Consultant to the United States Library of Congress Congressional Research Office Project on Extraterrestrial Intelligence ordered by President Jimmy Carter. In this capacity, Dan was given access not only to the classified portions of the United States Air Force's infamous "Project Blue Book" files but to the confidential report prepared for the Science & Technology Committee of the United States Congress by the Library of Congress Congressional Research Office pursuant to this Presidential assignment.

Today, Dan is director of The Strategic Initiative To Identify The New Paradigm which was one of the six Strategic Initiatives of the State of The world Forum of President Gorbachev. In this organization, Dan shares the responsibility for formulation of a new world view integrating into all of the classical fields of human knowledge (Cosmology, Theology, Philosophy, Physical Science, Psychology, Ethics, Ontology, Epistemology, Human Teleology) the now virtually universally accepted FACT of the existence of extraterrestrial Intelligence in our Universe and the growingly-accepted fact that representatives of one or more of these extraterrestrial civilizations are presently visiting our planet and interacting with members of our species. NOTE: The range of interests given above is reminiscent of those given by Joe Firmage. I want to make a statement about his very articulate presentation in two parts.
1) He told the story of how, during the Carter administration, in 1977 Carter requested UFO information from then-CIA Director George Bush and the request was declined by Bush. However, a confidential report was prepared for Carter and Sheehan, through connections, and a woman named Marcia (sorry, I did not write down the name, but intend to get more details on this story) he was given access to old microfilm files in a new wing of the National Archives which had armed guards stationed at the entrance. There he hand-cranked through the microfilm records.

He stated there were two primary reports, one on the UFO phenomena, and one on extraterrestrial life. He described how, rolling through the microfilm, he encountered some clear photos showing a "flying saucer" embedded in snow and surrounded by USAF personnel wearing parkas. He could even see visible name tags. The clarity of these photos impressed him. He could even make out symbols on the hull of the craft.
He did not elaborate on the other report except to say that it concluded that there were at least two and as many as six extraterrestrial civilizations in our local galaxy coming to earth. Now this is quite a statement and indicates that microfilmed documents exist that definitely support something much more than microbes from Mars. Aside from all the issues that this may raise on the truthfulness of his statements, the authenticity of the microfilm record, etc, he went on to propose that we look at the implications for including the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations in a new public policy paradigm for the new millennium. The consequence of retrievals of alien technology, back engineering efforts and covert programs to build a real Star Wars defense system and bring about a Global National Security State will affect everyone on the planet.

We can acknowledge threats to humanity as far as growing hunger and poverty, global warming and changes in our ecosystem, threats of nuclear confrontations with Asian powers, but Daniel felt we should also make public the potential threat of extraterrestrial powers (and he was not emphasizing that ETs were all a threat), but that a covert program is arming us for such an eventuality. Something to think about on our long road to uncover the Truth.

Remote Viewing: Aliens

I was born in Miami, Florida, January 10, 1946. I think the population was somewhere around a hundred thousand people back then. Until I was four, I lived in a garage under what used to be a Saloon and Beer hall, on about Ninth Street and Northwest 2nd Avenue, just off the Miami River. It was constructed about 1875. Somebody converted it into a house in the 1920’s, and I always remember it as being Grandma’s house. My great grandmother showed me pictures of the place when I was about 12. There’s a dugout canoe at a dock in the rear, and swamp as far as the eye can see.

We moved something like eight times between Kindergarten and high school graduation, but I always went to the same schools--St. Mary’s for elementary and Archbishop Curley the last four years. I enrolled at the University of Miami, but never made it through Orientation. I had gone from a high school with an average class sizes of 25, to a room with 1,600 kids. The only thing I remember about that day was giving away some very expensive books. In a time when it wasn’t hip, and to my mother’s dismay, I decided instead to volunteer for the United States Army.

After Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, I was recruited into the Army Security Agency and received my advanced training at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, where I saw my first snow fall. I graduated first in my class, which earned me a Corporal grade, but more importantly, a first assignment to Eleuthera in the Bahamas. The rest of my class was block-allocated to the Republic of South Vietnam, a place I would eventually get to visit some years later. I subsequently served 13 consecutive years overseas, with assignments that took me to more than twenty different countries and hundreds of different cities.

I returned to America in late 1977, accepting a commission as a Warrant Officer, as well as an assignment to Headquarters, Intelligence and Security Command. Less than a year later I was recruited as Remote Viewer #001 of the very black and very sensitive Psychic Spy unit now known as STARGATE. As one of the original viewers with that unit, I helped design and build an effective paranormal collection and support unit that serviced nearly all major Intelligence Agencies within the Federal Government for a period exceeding seventeen years.

In 1984, I retired from the military as a Chief Warrant Officer, and moved to the mountains of Central Virginia. It was there that I met, courted, and married Ms. Nancy Lea Honeycutt. She was the stepdaughter of Mr. Robert A. Monroe, author of Journeys Out of the Body. She was also the Director of The Monroe Institute, a place she helped her stepfather design and build. More importantly, she was the light of my life. Had it not been for her, I am sure that I would not have survived the major heart attack I had in 1985. I had open-heart surgery before my 39^th birthday. As a focus for recovery, we then designed and built a 5,000 square foot house together. It sits on the face of a mountainside, with a 270 degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Almost immediately after retiring, I was also hired by the Cognitive Sciences Lab, which was responsible for the research and development side of the STARGATE Project. I was hired as both a remote viewer as well as a research associate. I am fully employed by that same lab today. We are continuing to dig very deeply into the mystery behind psychic functioning and other paranormal phenomena.

Over the past fifteen years, I have written two non-fiction books about remote viewing. One is titled MIND TREK, which was published in 1993, and revised in 1997. The other is titled THE ULTIMATE TIME MACHINE, and it will hit the streets early December, 1998. Both books are published by Hampton Roads Publishing of Charlottesville, Virginia. I have also written a number of fictional novels on various subjects. A NECESSARY EVIL centers on the Vietnam War. BLACK THAI is a story that takes place in northern Thailand during the secret war in Laos. GODS THAT PEOPLE PLAY is a science fiction plot involving genetically manipulated psychics. And finally, I co-authored a novel with the late Robert Monroe about the take-over of a Russian Nuclear ICBM site. Its title is THE VARIABLE. None of these have yet been published.

In 1997 I finished work on a movie screenplay called THE PYRAMIDS OF MARS. It has an interesting plot that revolves around the issue of time. I am currently polishing a screenplay about operational remote viewing, titled PSIWAR, and have just finished the outline for a new remote viewing screenplay tentatively titled, NIGHTSHADE. The plot is still stamped, "Top Secret-Special Intelligence."

I have successfully demonstrated remote viewing on television live and taped more than half a dozen times. The most significant demonstrations being Put To The Test, an ABC Special; Mysteries of the Mind, a Reader’s Digest Special; and numerous appearances on the Paranormal World of Paul McKenna, which is shown on Channel Four in London, England. I have also demonstrated successful remote viewing under scientific control while teaching at numerous summer learning sessions held at the J. B. Rhine Institute in Durham, North Carolina.

Recently, I’ve undergone my second open-heart surgery that was quite successful. Hopefully it will be my last. My wife and I work and live happily together in central Virginia, in the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville. We share our home with six cats we call our fur children and numerous other creatures that visit from time to time. These include seven raccoons, a red fox, a black bear, and lots of friendly hummingbirds. I would not trade my life’s experience for all the money in China, although I’d like to see China one day.

My favorite hobbies are fishing, hiking in the mountains, writing fiction, reading, and walking on the beach with my wife.

UFO Terror in Brazil

There is a dark side of the UFO phenomenon that many people are not aware of. People and animals can be injured in encounters, sometimes fatally. This has been especially true in Brazil, perhaps more so than in all other countries. I first became aware of this in the late 1970s and became so intrigued that I have concentrated my research in that country in the hope of learning why. I have never found that answer but have come across numerous hostile incidents in which many people were injured, some fatally. Sightings and encounters occur frequently in Brazil but much of it goes unreported and is not investigated because there are vast areas of the interior – the farmlands, the tropical forests and the jungles far from the major cities – where few investigators live. Some incidents don’t come to light for years after. In thirteen visits between 1978 and 1999 to the country adding up to nearly nine months in the country, I have come across many astonishing reports. My talk discusses some of them.

I retired in 1999 after 48 years as a newspaper and magazine reporter and editor. I have interviewed 1,800 to 2,000 people in ten countries in North and South America and the Far East who have had UFO experiences. For six years I covered UFO stories for the National Enquirer, going to Brazil four times. Since 1981, however, I have investigated on my own, going to Brazil nine more times and to Puerto Rico twice. I am a former editor of the MUFON UFO Journal and am the author of UFO DANGER ZONE: Terror and Death in Brazil – Where Next? (1996, Horus House Press, P.O. Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Extraterrestrial Crash Retrieval, April 1941

This talk reviews the primary and secondary sources and evidence for the reality of an ET crash in 1941. It draws upon the new Majestic and Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit military intelligence documents which support the hypothesis of an ET crash in Missouri in 1941 and discusses the authenticity results for each. Furthermore, suggestive and supporting known authentic documents link to these new ones and ultimately advance the reasonable conclusion that there are pre Roswell crash events.

Special attention is paid to the primary witness, Reverend Huffman and related testimony of granddaughter Charlette Mann. Historical research has identified other witnesses and likely participates in the event. Other sources are analyzed for validity and contrasted with known historical facts. The author has identified and visited the likely crash site and will report on the forensic findings.

Ryan Wood earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1978. Following graduation he began a product marketing career at Intel, marketing and computer sales at Digital Equipment, then engineering management at Toshiba and finally marketing and sales at two Silicon Valley start-ups.

For the last eight years he has been an independent consultant, focusing on improving client business success primarily through better promotion, customer service, product communication, and sales. Notable achievements have come from efforts at public relations, marketing communications and strategic planning.

Tactical accomplishments include product launch press placements in major print; for example, the Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, and major market TV coverage on CBS, NBC, and ABC. A veteran of numerous product introductions, Mr. Wood has developed and executed advertising and promotion campaigns, direct mail programs, and telemarketing in both consumer businesses and industrial products (energy conservation, document imaging, medical imaging, semiconductors, and computer systems). 

Mr. Wood is talented at sales, customer support, market research, strategic planning, budgets and finance, briefing preparations, public speaking and product management and introductions. He has given more than 35 large audience seminars.

UFO-related projects include papers titled: "Ufology: In Search Of Leadership," "Abductee Blood Analysis," "Fundraising: The Motherlode of UFO Membership," and an unpublished work "Missing Fetuses: Evidence Of Alien DNA." As a UFO investigator with MUFON he has chosen to specialize in the strategic problems of ufology, namely unquestionable proof, improved media acceptance and a dramatic membership increase. Mr. Wood is an Eagle Scout, Black Belt, a Triathlete, a promoter and an avid entrepreneur.

Dr. Leir will present a summary of the nine surgeries that were performed for removal of objects suspected of being Alien Implants. He will review the scientific analysis that has been performed and present the conclusions so far. In addition Dr. Leir will present his theory of why Alien Abductions are occurring and show conclusive evidence to prove that the children born in the last twenty to thirty years are a new type of human being. Dr. Leir holds a doctorate in podiatric medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine, with extensive experience in surgery related to the foot. He has worked in a variety of hospitals in Southern California, including serving as Podiatric Director of Residency Training at Simi Valley Doctors Hospital and as Chief of the Diabetic Food Clinic at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Hollywood. He maintains a multi-office private practice in Ventura County west of Los Angeles.

Dr. Leir speaks of his interest in UFOs going back to July 1947, when his father announced to his family that the Air Force had captured a flying saucer in Roswell, NM, and that the government would be bound to wrap the subject in secrecy, a prediction fully in light of the events that followed. Years later, a friend talked Dr. Leir into attending a lecture at the local MUFON, and he found the presentation so interesting that he joined the local and national MUFON organizations. For years, this was a hobby interest, like his other great interest in aviation (he is a licensed pilot).

At a UFO-Expo West convention in Los Angeles, Dr. Leir met Mr. Derrel Sims of Texas, who interested him so much in the claims of one abductee about having some sort of abduction-related implant in the big toe area that he volunteered to do surgery to remove the object if she would be willing to fly from Texas to California for the procedure. Thus began Dr. Leir's best known professional involvement in the abduction phenomenon: assembling surgical teams and conducting the surgical removal of anomalous objects from abductees' bodies, with rigorous documentation of every step of the procedures.

He has written this work up in scientific papers and in a very accessible book, The Aliens and the Scalpel: Scientific Proof of Extraterrestrial Implants in Humans (Columbus, OH: Granite Publishing, under the auspices of the Bigelow Foundation and the National Institute for Discovery Science, 1998).

Flying Saucers and

the Cosmic Neighborhood

There is overwhelming evidence that planet earth is being visited by intelligently spacecraft originating in our local Cosmic Neighborhood. It is clear that this is very disturbing to a number of powerful groups such as major governments, the SETI cultists, journalists confident of their "knowledge" of what is important, scientists completely unaware of the fact that progress comes from doing things differently in ways we cannot yet understand.

Self interest is an important part of the unwillingness to recognize that earth isn't the center of the universe, that our planet must surely be seen as a primitive society whose major activity is visitations and within our local neighborhoods, properly defined in both space and time, there are sun like stars more than a billion years older thab the sun. Once we recognize the real world of our cosmic neighborhood, perhaps we can qualify for admission to the Cosmic Kindergarten as we recognize that we should be earthlings first, nationalists second. The transition will be difficult; the rewards many.

Stanton T. Friedman was born in NJ on July 29, 1934, was valedictorian of his 1951, Linden, NJ, high school class, and spent 2 years at Rutgers Univ., New Brunswick, NJ, before switching to the University of Chicago in 1953. He received BS and MS degrees in Physics from UC in 1955 and 1956. Carl Sagan was a classmate there. He worked for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse; TRW, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell Douglas on such advanced, highly classified, eventually canceled projects as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, nuclear power plants for space.

Since 1967, he has lectured on the topic ' "Flying Saucers ARE Real" at more than 600 colleges and over 100 professional groups in 50 states, 9 Provinces, England, Italy, Germany, Holland, France, Finland, Brazil, Australia, Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Argentina, and Israel. He has published more than 70 papers on UFOs besides his dozens of, conventional articles, and appeared on hundreds of radio and TV shows. These include the TNT Larry King UFO Special on Oct.1, 1994, Nightline, Sally Jessy Raphael, Unsolved Mysteries, Entertainment Tonight, Leeza, Sightings, Canada AM, Art Bell and many more.

He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident, co-authored Crash at Corona, and instigated the Unsolved Mysteries Roswell program. He was heavily involved in both the 1979 documentary UFOs are Real, and the 1993 & 1996 Videos Flying Saucers Are Real.

His new interactive CD ROM, UFOs: The Real Story was published in 1996. TOP SECRET/MAJIC (Marlowe and Co., NY) his explosive book about the Majestic 12 group, established in 1947 by President Truman to deal with crashed saucers, was published in July, 1996, and includes classified documents never before published. It is already in it's 6th printing.

Stan anchored the affirmative team in an October, 1995 debate at Oxford Univ., "This House Believes That Intelligent Alien Life Has Visited Planet Earth", garnering 60% of the member-vote. On June 27,1997, his TV Debate team got 92% of 100,000 votes called into ITV in London, England: "Are Aliens 'visiting Earth?". He has provided testimony to Congressional Hearings, appeared twice at the United Nations, and pioneered many aspects of Ufology, including the Betty Hill star map work, crashed saucers, analysis of the Delphos physical trace case, and challenges to the S.E.T.I. Alien Abduction Defense

"UFO alien abduction" is a highly controversial subject in spite of its wide public acceptance.  Images of "greys" and other "ETs" are widespread throughout the media, but what is not generally known is that abductees and researchers offer varying and often contradictory theories about their natures and purposes.

Yet there is an compelling aspect that has been almost ignored, namely:  many abductees and experiencers can resist the "visits" of the abducting phenomenon and end disturbing scenarios by using several  physical and mental techniques described in my recent book, HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST ALIEN ABDUCTION.  When these simple techniques are used by stout-hearted experiencers who feel that their inviolable rights are being violated, the altered state in which "abductions"  occur is broken, the creatures disappear, and the scenario ends.  "Resisters" give solid evidence that "abductors" are not technologically superior ETs, but something else.

Some meaningful data on personality traits shared by successful resisters has surfaced, as well as traits common to some abductees who wish to end disturbing scenarios, but who seem unable to do so.  There is urgent need for statistical and psychological studies on the problem and attention should be paid to "resisters" by all researchers in this field.

Ann Druffel dates her interest in UFOs from 1945, when she viewed a bright yellowish object over Long Beach. It released smaller shiny objects, which took varying paths out and away from the main object. 

Ann has investigated the UFO question since 1957 and was one of the first investigators for NICAP for fifteen years. Ann then joined the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) with which she is still actively associated as investigator and frequent contributor to their journals. She is also a U.S. consultant for and regular contributor for the British research journal Flying Saucer Review (FSR).

Ann has written several books and over 180 articles for top UFO journals. She wrote The Tujunga Canyon Contacts in 1980, Scientist vs the System: Dr. James E. McDonald's Fight for UFO Science (publication forthcoming). Her current book is How to Defend yourself Against Alien Abductions. 

Ann has a B.A. in Sociology from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles and has completed one year's graduate work toward an M.S.W. at Catholic University in Washington D.C. She has also accumulated post-graduate credits in Filmwriting and has professional credits in screenwriting on documentaries, a filmplay and other research/associate/consultancy credits. She has been a spokesperson since 1965 for the UFO field on TV/radio/press, appearing often on camera and on radio talk shows. She speaks frequently on various aspects of the UFO question at major UFO conferences, symposia and other meetings.
